FIELD TECHNICIAN
Location: Regional Travel Required / Various Locations
Job Summary:
We need a responsible technician for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar-powered Mobile Ai Surveillance Trailers (MAST units) deployed in the field. This hands-on role requires a proactive, self-motivated professional with a technical background, who thrives in both independent and team environments. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the performance, reliability, and appearance of every system in their assigned territory.
This position may require overtime, weekend work, and regional travel to meet project demands and uphold Sharpvue’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure solar-powered camera systems (MAST units) at customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance, system checks, and firmware updates to ensure continuous operation.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to solar panels, battery banks, cameras, wireless connectivity, and structural components.
- Provide exceptional customer service during field visits, troubleshooting, and maintenance calls.
- Document all maintenance, repairs, inventory usage, and customer interactions in service records and reports.
- Manage and organize regional inventory, including spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Make detailed adjustments to cameras, sensors, and system settings for optimal performance.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades or improvements and coordinate with the operations team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a field technician or similar role, ideally in solar, surveillance, or communications systems.
- Solid understanding of solar power systems, battery maintenance, and camera technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; comfortable working directly with clients.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with tools, meters, testing equipment, and software for diagnostics and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel regionally.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with remote camera & solar systems, networking, and wireless communication equipment.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor fieldwork.
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment requiring multitasking and teamwork.
- Regional travel with occasional overnight stays based on project needs.
